Salvation Army

Every year, the Hastings Kiwanis Club partners with our local Salvation Army to help special children learn the meaning and spirit of Christmas. Kiwanis and Key Club members help Salvation Army children buy Christmas presents for members of their family. We do this through the generous support of our membership and a local sponsor, K Mart, that donates money to these children to use in their shopping. Our members then help the children wrap their gifts as they are visited by a special guest, Santa Clause, who makes sure they also have gifts of their own. Our members then help the Salvation Army with a day of bell ringing around the familiar Red Kettle. You, too, can help the Salvation Army. Salvation Army and Kiwanis in Action

On Saturday December 13th, 2008, Salvation Army, Hastings Kiwanis, and K Mart teamed together to help area youth purchase Christmas presents for their family. Santa Claus made sure each child went home with gifts of their own. A wonderful time was had by all. We will all team up again to help the children shop for Christmas gifts on Saturday December 12, 2009.
